"Factors underlying increased risks of COVID-19 infection and severe outcomes among people with diabetes"
Recent studies have shown that patients with diabetes are at an increased risk for having adverse outcomes after a COVID-19 infection. In the proposed study, the authors have described a retrospective analysis of an existing dataset (WU 350, with ~200 patients with a diabetes diagnosis) with clinical, demographic, and biomolecular markers. Two analyses are proposed: a regression analysisregarding the major factors associated with increased risk for diabetes for COVID-19 patients; and an ML-based approach to predict the severity of COVID-19 outcomes for diabetic patients.
